About Gid Taylor

Gid Taylor is a songwriter for all seasons.

Having played keyboard / vocals with a number of bands, including THE LOWERTHIRD and KWORTET, and now performing solo, Gid started writing songs in the womb, having spells with publishers SOUTHERN MUSIC in London, and SONGRUNNERS MUSIC in New York.

A tour of Germany with the KARACTERS and a spot on NEW FACES, with Mike Squires as TWO-A-PENNY, kept him busy until steam radio beckoned, and comedy songs for two series of KEEP IT MACLEAN on BBC RADIO 2 brought in the royalties. After ELAINE PAIGE recorded some demo vocals for him, a few album and single tracks came along, by people like DON MACLEAN, TRILOGY, BARRY JUST, WILLIE PRINCE, MARSHALL DOCTORS, NICKY PARKER, PETER GOODWRIGHT, THE ZAVARONIS and THE CRACKERJACK ALBUM.

Then came the collaboration with fellow ex-Lower Third member STEPHEN GOLD, writing songs and music for THORPE PARK and other theme parks in the U.K. and abroad. The two have written musicals together for Flame Music, 'ALICE' and 'SANTA CLAUS', with more to come.

Now spending more time writing than gigging, Gid has found the comedy / novelty slant has come to the fore, but there's still enough variety of material for any prospective artist.
